Social-Emotional Student Survey FAQ

Parkway is partnering with Panorama Education to collect and analyze data about social-emotional learning, school climate, sense of belonging and more. These surveys are research-based tools designed to assess and support students' social-emotional learning (SEL) needs. These surveys help schools gather important information about students' experiences, skills, and well-being. The surveys will be administered to students in grades 3-12 in three phases: 

Fall 2024 – Barretts, Bellerive, Carman Trails, Claymont, Craig, Green Trails, Henry, Highcroft Ridge, McKelvey Intermediate, McKelvey Primary, Mason Ridge, Oak Brook, River Bend, Ross, Shenandoah Valley, Sorrento Springs, Wren Hollow, Northeast Middle, South Middle, Southwest Middle, West Middle, West High, South High, Fern Ridge

Winter 2025 – Hanna Woods, Pierremont, Central High

Fall 2025 – Central Middle, North High

Typically, the surveys are conducted two times per academic year - once in the fall and once in the winter. This allows us to track progress and adjust our support strategies as needed.

While we believe all students will benefit from taking surveys, they are not mandatory. We respect families who may want to opt out so that their child does not participate.

If you do not want your child to take the survey, please complete the opt-out form provided in your school newsletter or emailed in advance of the survey date.

By participating in this survey, your child may receive more support in developing crucial life skills such as managing emotions, building healthy relationships, and making responsible decisions. The insights gained help us create a more supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requires school districts to administer surveys of our choosing aimed towards school improvement.
