Federal Programs
The Parkway School District receives federal funds through guidance presented in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 2016. Monies received through Title I (Academic Support), Title II (Professional Development), Title III (English Learners), and Title IV (Student Support and Academic Enrichment) are disbursed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in Missouri. Parkway also serves as the fiscal agent for the distribution of funds to nonpublic schools that qualify within the Parkway School District or who serve students who live within the boundaries of the Parkway School District. Please visit the DESE Federal Legislation and Guidance webpage for specific information on all Title programs.
Programs
Title I.A
Title I.A is aims to provide all students opportunities for a fair, equitable, and high-quality education to close achievement gaps based on economic deprivation as measured by those families eligible for free and reduced lunch programs. Parkway School District implements a schoolwide system of support that upgrades the entire educational program of a school so that all students can reach high academic standards. Carman Trails Elementary and Ross Elementary currently qualify for Title I.A funding.
Schoolwide Plans
- A schoolwide program is a comprehensive reform strategy designed to ensure that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on State academic achievement standards.
- A schoolwide program uses Title I.A allocations to upgrade the entire school educational program to raise academic achievement for ALL students at the school. No longer are students or teachers labeled “Title I,” but all students and teachers use Title 1.A funds to improve the school’s entire academic program.
- An important goal the Parkway School District sets is to ensure that all students succeed academically. Your encouragement and support play a vital role in your child's progress.
Title II
Title II.A aims to increase student achievement by improving the quality and effectiveness of certified school personnel through high-quality professional development opportunities.
Title III EL
Title III EL aims to develop high levels of academic achievement in English for immigrants and students whose native language is one other than English.
Title IV.A - Student Support and Academic Enrichment
Title IV.A aims to improve students' academic achievement by increasing Parkway's capacity in the following areas.
- Provide all students with access to a well-rounded education
- Improve school conditions for student learning
- Improve student technology use in classrooms, improving academic achievement and digital literacy
