Michelle Weissenborn selected as Claymont Elementary principal
4/13/2018 -- Superintendent Keith Marty announced that Michelle Weissenborn has been named principal at Claymont Elementary, effective July 1. The board of education voted unanimously in support of the recommendation.
Weissenborn has been an assistant principal at Claymont since 2007. She came to Parkway Schools in 2000 and taught fourth and fifth grades at River Bend Elementary where she earned the Teacher of the Year award and received the Leonard Blake Award presented by the City of Chesterfield. She began her career teaching in the Riverview Gardens School District where she was presented with the district-level Outstanding Elementary Teaching Award.
Superintendent Keith Marty said, “Weissenborn brings people together on a daily basis to benefit all children at Claymont. She makes personal connections with students, staff and parents and is a key architect of the family-centered school culture at Claymont.”
Weissenborn earned a bachelor’s degree of science and a master’s degree in education administration from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Weissenborn replaces Aaron Wills who is moving to Parkway’s Sorrento Springs Elementary as principal.
