Tracy Smith selected as principal of Ross Elementary
5/2/2022 -- Tracy Smith has been selected as the next principal of Ross Elementary School, effective July 1.
Smith brings over 20 years of classroom teaching and leadership experience to Ross. She is currently an assistant principal at an elementary school in the Hazelwood School District. Prior to this leadership role, she was an instructional coach and taught in the classroom at nearly every elementary grade level. She began her career 24 years ago as a fifth-grade teacher in the Rockwood School District.
“Please join me in welcoming Tracy to Parkway and to her new role at Ross Elementary, said Superintendent Keith Marty. We look forward to having her join our school community and work closely with staff and parents in the coming months to plan for a smooth transition into this role next year.”
Smith holds a master’s in educational administration from the University of Missouri St. Louis and a bachelor’s in elementary education from Harris Stowe State University. She is currently working on a doctorate in character education and servant leadership at the University of Missouri St. Louis.
Smith said “It is my honor to serve the staff, students and parents of Ross Elementary as your building principal. Joining a community that values a sense of belonging, social-emotional wellness and academic achievement for all fills my heart with so much joy. I’m looking forward to our partnership.”
Smith replaces Kimberly Rowan.
