5/4/2021 -- Melissa Schewe has been selected as the next principal of Hanna Woods Elementary, effective July 1.

Schewe currently serves as your assistant principal at Hanna Woods. Previously, she was an assistant principal at Highcroft Ridge in Parkway. Prior to these leadership roles, she was an instructional coach at Parkway Central Middle school for three years. She began her career 12 years ago as an elementary and middle school classroom teacher in Parkway schools.

“Schewe has a passion for and a deep understanding of Hanna Wood’s history, which is known for its diversity, strong character and family-based community values, said Superintendent Keith Marty. In her previous leadership roles, she has led learning opportunities for educators to model the qualities of high-quality instruction and is known to collaborate with teachers and staff to problem-solve action steps to support each student. Melissa values positivity, dependability and strong relationships to ensure students are successful and cared for at school.”

Schewe has a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University, a master’s in educational administration from Lindenwood University and a bachelor’s in elementary education from Quincy University.
