Aspiring Parkway scientists completed STARS program at University of Missouri–St. Louis
10/5/2022 -- Eleven Parkway students completed the Students and Teachers as Research Scientists (STARS) summer program at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
This summer, 70 students from a total of 34 high schools took part in the program as it returned to its traditional format after being held virtually last summer. They worked within the labs of 40 research mentors in the fields of biology, chemistry, computer science, earth science, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, medicine, physics and psychology. The mentors were from either UMSL or one of its partners – Saint Louis University, Washington University in St. Louis, the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center or the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy.
