2014 bond issue projects are still underway
11/9/2016 -- This summer marked the second anniversary of Proposition S, the $94 million bond issue approved by voters in 2014. The bond issue made seven new classrooms at Henry Elementary possible. A number of other renovations, including middle school science labs, technology upgrades, roofing, parking lots and HVAC replacements, were also made possible.
The bond issue addressed four core areas:
• Student Safety, Security and Health
• School Maintenance, Repairs and Renovations
• Middle School Science Labs
• Technology
Construction projects totaled $30 million.
“It was the biggest summer of construction in Parkway history,” says Mike Mertens, Parkway facilities director. “Major projects were underway at 13 Parkway locations at an estimated cost of $30 million in improvements and updates to our schools.”
Over the next two summers, Parkway will begin renovations to middle school science labs areas and finish the new music room addition at North High.
Thank you, Parkway voters, for your support!
