Thomas Wheaton [PCH'70]

Worked as a public school teacher/coach in Kansas City before joining the Navy. Commissioned via Aviation Officer Candidate School [Pensacola] and winged in 1983. Naval Officer of 28 years with multiple deployments with the Navy and Marines (1982-2010); board certified in Aerospace Physiology (& past Pres of the intl Aerospace Physiology Society) BS Zoology SEMO, MS Public Health East Carolina, Naval Postgraduate School. Retired 2010. Worked for 3 years post-Navy running government science projects before full time retirement.

Interests remain: Aviation/flying. Travel when possible. Sailing and boating (when I have a boat). Gardening. Women's fashions and issues. Recreational guitar for fun and church. Outdoor activities include bicycling, skiing, hiking. Reside in Colorado with my wife of 45 years; two children [grown]; 3 grandchildren. I umpire high school baseball /softball for a hobby job; and volunteer for local military service and LGBT related non-profits.
