10/8/2020 -- Last night, the Parkway Board of Education approved a plan for high school students to return to school during the second quarter. We are developing a detailed calendar and timeline which we will share next week.
When in-person learning resumes for high school students there will be a brief transition period before returning to school five days a week, similar to our elementary and middle school plans. We will continue to stay in touch and share more information as soon as possible.
What factors were used to make this decision? We have been closely monitoring the key health data in our community. You can see the health data we are using to inform our decisions on our Community Health Dashboard here.
On Monday, October 5, St. Louis County recommended high schools explore a return to in-person learning based on improvements in regional health data.
New health data show improvement among youth ages 15-19. Specifically, the County noted the rate of new cases in youth ages 15-19 declined by 16 percent over the past two weeks and the positivity rate dropped from 7.6 to 5.7 percent.
