State Board of Education approved waiver for Parkway and other districts to design a better way to measure student learning

8/18/2023 -- As you may know, this week, the State Board of Education unanimously approved a waiver for Parkway and other districts to design a better way to measure student learning and ensure it is meaningful for students.

You may remember hearing about Parkway’s participation in this group (the Success-Ready Students Network) last spring.

What does this mean?
In the near term, this will not change any of the work we are already doing. While this work is underway, Parkway is still required for federal accountability to give the grade-level MAP and EOC exams.

The approval by the State Board allows Parkway and the other districts that are part of this effort to begin laying the groundwork for the future of assessment and accountability in Missouri.

If you are interested, you can read more about this work here. There was also a news story in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch with more information about why this work is important moving forward.
