Hanna Woods Elementary named National School of Character
5/13/2019 -- Hanna Woods Elementary was named a 2019 National School of Character. In addition, McKelvey Elementary was renewed as a National School of Character. McKelvey first received the award in 2014.
Parkway now has 12 National Schools of Character - Barretts, Carman Trails, Craig, Green Trails, Hanna Woods, McKelvey, Oak Brook and Ross elementary schools; Central, Northeast and Southwest middle schools and the Early Childhood Center. The Parkway School District was named a School District of Character in 2017.
Character.org, a national advocate and leader for character in communities including schools, families, workplaces, and sports, designated 88 schools and 3 districts in 24 states as National Schools of Character as well as one school as a China School of Character for 2019.
