Update to the 2020-21 academic calendar

2020-21 calendar 10/22/2020 – Last night, the Parkway Board of Education approved changes to the 2020-21 academic calendar. View the revised 2020-21 calendar here.

The 2020-2021 Parkway calendar needed to be updated due to the recent shift from first quarter distance learning for all students to a Parkway virtual and in-person approach to learning starting the second quarter.

Changes to the calendar are below:

  • High school finals moved from October 22/23 to October 29/30 extending the first quarter one week for high school students. Given the pace of the first quarter and four courses, we want to ensure students have more time to prepare for final exams and give our schools enough time to prepare for students to return.
  • October 26 is still no school for all students. It remains a records day for PK-8 but will now be a professional development day for 9-12.
  • There is no school on November 2 for students in grades 9-12, allowing staff to prepare for in-person learning.
  • November 3 will remain no school for all students (Election Day). PK-8 will have professional development and 9-12 records day.
