Tori Cain selected as new North High principal
3/23/2017 -- Superintendent Dr. Keith Marty announced that Dr. Tori Cain has been named principal at Parkway North High School, effective July 1. The board of education voted unanimously in support of the recommendation.
Superintendent Dr. Keith Marty said, “We're very pleased to have a smooth transition at North High, with Tori serving as assistant principal there for the past four years. She has already displayed outstanding leadership skills and a very child-centered approach to her work.”
Cain has been an assistant principal at North High since 2013. Before that, she was an assistant principal at Park Hill High School in suburban Kansas City, Mo. and served as the assistant principal for Lee’s Summit West High School in Lee’s Summit, Mo. Prior to that, she was the science department chair for Park Hill High School. She has also served as a science teacher in Iowa, Arkansas and Texas.
“I am honored to serve the Parkway North community in this new role. I look forward to working together as team to continue the proud legacy and tradition of excellence of Parkway North High School,” Cain said.
Cain earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and general science from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She received a master’s degree in general science from the University of Arkansas; a specialist’s degree in educational administration from the University of Missouri at Kansas City; and her doctorate in educational administration from St. Louis University.
Cain replaces Dr. Jenny Marquart, who is retiring after 17 years as North High’s principal.
