Parkway names Gregory Mathison assistant superintendent
2/28/2019 -- Gregory Mathison has been named the Parkway School District’s assistant superintendent of student services, effective July 1. The board of education voted unanimously in support of the recommendation.
Mathison is well known in the region as an experienced educator and administrator. He is currently the principal of Marquette High School in the Rockwood School District, where he has served since 2010. Previously, he served as the assistant principal of Marquette High School for three years. He began his career as a high school math and computer science teacher.
Mathison was just named the 2019 High School Principal of the Year by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MOASSP). He holds a doctorate in educational administration from Maryville University and a master’s in educational administration from Lindenwood University. His bachelor’s degree is in mathematics education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Superintendent Keith Marty said, “In getting to know Dr. Mathison professionally and personally, his beliefs and philosophies are closely aligned with our Parkway mission and approach to serving others. I’m confident Dr. Mathison will be an effective facilitator and supporter of our students, principals and schools, and a tremendous leader of the work ahead for the student services department.”
Mathison will replace Dr. Gina Piccinni, who has been named principal of Pierremont Elementary School, effective July 1.
