Parkway bus driver wins state bus driving safety competition
7/3/2019 -- Parkway Schools Greg Zemblidge won the Missouri Association for Pupil Transportation Annual School Bus Driver Safety Competition held June 20 and 21 at School of the Osage Middle School, Lake Ozark, Mo. The event featured 10 driving skills including a six-minute test to find six driving defects, parallel parking, and student pickup drills.
Parkway has had several top-five finishes in recent years but it has been 11 years since Parkway has crowned a state champion at this event.
Zemblidge will now represent Missouri at 49th Annual School Bus Driver International Safety Competition on July 21st, 2019 in Austin, Texas.
Each year, the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) hosts the School Bus Driver International Safety Competition. The School Bus Driver International Safety Competition began in 1971 as the National School Bus Safety Road-e-o. This is one of the most important events in the industry, with the best school bus drivers from the U.S. and Canada competing for top honors and recognition.
