Parkway names Kevin Beckner assistant superintendent
4/28/2017 -- Kevin Beckner has been named the Parkway School District’s assistant superintendent of teaching, learning and accountability, effective July 1 pending board approval.
Beckner will replace Lisa Merideth, who is retiring after 11 years of service in Parkway and over 30 years in education. Merideth has generously agreed to continue her service into the fall. We look forward to a wonderful transition between Beckner and Merideth as they work together to support our teaching, learning and accountability team and efforts as we approach a busy summer and start of a new school year.
Throughout his 10 years in Parkway, Beckner has developed strong relationships with teachers, principals, district leaders and fellow coordinators. He understands the culture of Parkway, as well as the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as we embark on Project Parkway 2.0.
For the past five years, Beckner has served Parkway as our coordinator of student assessment. Previously, he served Parkway as assistant principal of Northeast Middle School for five years.
Superintendent Keith Marty said, “Whether through the development of personalized learning, integration of learning and character education or the design of authentic assessments, I’m confident Kevin will continue his consistent commitment to our Parkway mission and goals.”
