Parkway Schools earn top score on state report card
2/4/2019 -- The grades are in, and Parkway Schools again earned a high score on the state report card! Parkway is ranked as one of the top ten performing school districts in the St. Louis area.
Parkway earned 98.9 percent on the 2018 Annual Performance Report (APR) released last week by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The Annual Performance Report (APR) uses multiple measures and several years of data to provide an accurate and meaningful look at districts.
DESE uses APR scores to determine how well school districts are meeting Missouri's education standards under the state's accountability system, the Missouri School Improvement Program 5 (MSIP5). Schools that score above 90% are considered accredited with distinction.
Missouri’s rating system is based on a number of factors including academic achievement (school status, student progress and student growth), subgroup achievement, high school readiness (K-8), college or career readiness (K-12) attendance rate and graduation rate. This year’s APR data reflected a slightly heavier focus on non-academic factors such as high school readiness (K-8 districts), college and career readiness (K-12 districts), attendance and graduation rates.
