5/6/2024 -- Angie Pappas-Muyco, principal of South High, was named Exemplary New Principal of the Year by the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals (SASSP). She was nominated by her administrative team.

Pappas-Muyco, in her second year as principal, learned about the honor during a surprise announcement on April 12 at school. Pappas-Muyco was formally recognized in front of her peers at the SASSP spring awards banquet on April 25. 

"She is so beloved here and so worthy of this honor," said Jenn Sebold, an assistant principal at South High, also a board member of SASSP. As part of this honor Pappas-Muyco gets to award a $250 scholarship to any South High student.

The St. Louis Area Secondary School Principals is an organization dedicated to growing leaders that can make positive contributions to area schools.
