6/4/2024 -- Central Middle's Lyric Green has been accepted into the Sphynx Performance Academy (SPA) at The Julliard School in New York. Last year, Green went from playing the violin to bass, an instrument she had never played before. She has been playing principal bass in the Young Peoples Concert Orchestra at Webster Community School.

The Sphinx Performance Academy is a full-scholarship intensive summer chamber music and solo performance program with a focus on cultural diversity, for string musicians ages 11-17. Curriculum includes lessons, masterclasses, recitals, career enrichment sessions, and mentorship tailored to each student. SPA offers a chamber orchestra and solo repertoire focus for violin, viola, cello, and bass.
