Parkway’s director of health services named School Nurse Administrator of the Year
10/27/2020 -- Robin Wallin, Parkway’s director of health services, has been named the St. Louis Suburban School Nurses' Association School Nurse Administrator of the Year.
Wallin has been leading the Missouri School Nurse Leader COVID-19 Collaborative, which provides support, education and resources for school nurse leaders throughout the state to prepare them to respond to COVID-19 in the school setting. She has a particular interest in the management of chronic health conditions in schools and bringing school-based healthcare services to students. She collaborated with Parkway colleagues to update the Pandemic Plan and Reentry Plan during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Superintendent Keith Marty said, “Parkway is fortunate to have Robin’s talents, expertise and leadership skills. Especially at this challenging time, it is great relief to me and others to have her guiding our health services.”
Wallin has served as the director of health services for Parkway since 2015. She received a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Yale University and is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and a nationally certified school nurse. Wallin has 23 years of experience as a school nurse and district school health leader. She spent a year at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where she contributed to two publications with colleagues and was the primary author of the CDC Food Allergy Toolkit for Schools
About the St. Louis Suburban School Nurses' Association
St. Louis Suburban School Nurses' Association is a district of the Missouri Association of School Nurses. They serve and support approximately 340 public and private school nurses in the metropolitan St. Louis area. The mission is to educate, support, promote the professional growth of and advance the practice of school nurses.
