Four Parkway students honored by Saint Louis County
This month, four Parkway students were recognized as a part of the Saint Louis County Outstanding Student Leader Program, including Leo Brown (Central High), Elizabeth Fuehne (North High), Grace Fu (South High), and Mahika Gudipati (West High). The Outstanding Student Leader Award, which was established in 1976, annually recognizes one senior student from each St. Louis County high school who performs vital services to their school and community such as volunteering, fundraising, leadership ability at school, and participation in various clubs, teams, and/or projects.
Nominated seniors attended a one-day leadership event on October 15 at Washington University-St. Louis culminating with a recognition ceremony at the St. Louis Government Center. They were honored by St. Louis County officials including County Executive Dr. Sam Page and County Council members
Leo Brown, Central High
Brown is the Central High student body treasurer, National Business Honor Society president, and PCHTV producer. Leo is also involved in Link Leaders, Parkway PATH, and Video Board. Other interests include baseball, sports media and pickleball. Brown is interested in attending University of Missouri or University of Kansas to study Strategic Communications.
Elizabeth Fuehne, North High
Fuehne is the North High National Honor Society president, Senior Drum Major for Marching Viking Bind, a Parkway PATH Leader, and a recipient of the Princeton Book Award for dedication to community service and academic excellence. Elizabeth volunteers at Loaves & Fishes, the Parkway Food Pantry, and tutors at school. In her spare time, she enjoys music, nature, learning, politics, and current events. Fuehne is interested in attending Purdue University, University of Michigan or University of Illinois to study Engineering.
Grace Fu, South High
Fu is the South High student council president, Tri-M Music Honor Society president, National Business Honor Society president, varsity volleyball captian, and founder of the Super Joey Foundation. Grace has received numerous honors including the 2024 Bank of America Student Leader Award, MSHSAA State Music Festival Gold Rating Performance, 2024 Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in Mandarin Chinese, 2024 Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, and is the Missouri Delegate for the 2024 National Youth Science Camp. Other interests include baking, making YouTube videos, and biking with friends. Fu is interested in attending Stanford University, Columbia University, Washington University-St. Louis, Princeton University, or Duke University to study Computer Science and Business.
Mahika Gudipati, West High
Gudipati is the West High student body president, Editor-in-Chief of the Pathfinder, Speech & Debate qualifier, with Summa Cum Laude distinction. Mahika is also a member of Future Business Leaders of America, National Honors Society, varsity dance, Link Crew, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, International Thespian Society, Superintendent Adivsory Council for Social Justice, and Parkway PATH. She enjoys dance, debate, government, and volunteering. Gudipati is interested in attending Yale University, Columbia University, Georgetown University, or Washington University-St. Louis to study Political Science and Communications with a minor in Spanish.
