3/1/2023 -- Parkway has been invited to join a small group of innovative districts to design a better, more meaningful way to measure student growth that would ultimately replace the MAP test. The group is called the Success-Ready Students Network.

Over the next few months, we will seek a waiver request from the state and federal government to design these improvements. If the waiver is granted, the group will pilot a new state assessment to replace the MAP test and implement a better system that supports student learning. The work would begin in the fall of 2023 and continue through 2027.

As a design zone, Parkway will serve as a site visit location to share best practices with other school districts in Missouri, and continue to explore real-world learning opportunities for students in collaboration with business and community partners.

Some of the key components of the new design will benefit students by:

• Measuring each student’s growth multiple times during the school year

• Providing immediate, timely feedback for the student, teacher and parents

• Allowing students to understand where they are in their learning and engage in setting their own future goals

• Personalizing learning for students using different pathways and varied pacing

• Advancing learning based on a student's progress, not based on time.

• Providing real-world learning experiences that support high school, college, career and workplace readiness

What is the Success-Ready Students Network
The Success-Ready Students Network is a diverse group of 53 Missouri school districts four universities and 14 state and regional education organizations, working in collaboration with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Together, we are designing a better way for each student to engage in meaningful learning, demonstrate individual growth and prepare for future success

What is a System Design Zone
The system design zones are a smaller group of districts in the network that have been recognized as leaders in the state of Missouri. Design zones will lead the work and include Affton, Bloomfield, Branson, Center, Confluence Academy, Fayette, Green Ridge, Jamestown, Kearney, Ladue, Lebanon, Lee’s Summit, Lewis County, Liberty, Lindbergh, Lonedell, Mehlville, Neosho, Ozark, Parkway, Pattonville, Raymore Peculiar, Ritenour, Ste. Genevieve and Shell Knob
