Parkway receives 2019 Business Health Culture Award
11/22/19--Parkway was awarded the 2019 Business Health Culture Award presented by the St Louis Area Business Health Coalition. The award illustrates Parkway’s commitment to health and wellness and recognizes the district as an innovation leader regarding comprehensive approaches to improving the well-being of employees and their family members.
Dr. Keith Marty remarked, “We are proud to receive this honor and recognition, but we are more proud of our employees who are role models for our students every day. Our first priority is to take care of our children and we know that we cannot be successful unless our teachers and staff are also healthy and well. Our employees are our most valuable resource, so we remain committed to investing in their wellbeing professionally and personally in order to retain the most qualified and caring people to support our students.”
Leah Gonzalez, Parkway’s Wellness Coordinator, accepted the award on November 21 at the BHC annual meeting on the district’s behalf. “I have been fortunate to work with a supportive Board of Education, accomplished leaders-Dr Marty and Patty Bedborough, a dynamic team committed to student wellness- Dr. Robin Wallin and employee wellness- Brian Whittle and Tierra Morris, and a large team of 32 wellness leaders. I feel privileged, as many of you do, to have the ability to impact another’s life. Don’t underestimate the impact that you may make or how far your reach goes.” Gonzalez said.
The blossoming partnerships with EAP-PAS and the employee clinic system-Care ATC and among the countless wellness initiatives that made this award possible. The school district becomes one of only six employers to be recognized with the annual distinction, including past winners Anheuser-Busch Companies, LLC, and The Boeing Company.
