Extended Closure Update

March 23, 2020

Dear Parkway staff,

We wanted you to know that the following announcement will go to all Parkway parents later this afternoon. As a reminder, starting today, Monday, March 23, only authorized staff are allowed to access district buildings in order to protect the health and safety of all employees.

We are so thankful for the support you continue to provide to our students. In the days and weeks ahead, know that we are here to support you and remain grateful that our children have you to learn from and lean on. You have a great purpose right now. My hope is that this provides you some peace and hope as we focus on our children and families.

Stay well and know that you are in our hearts,

Dr. Marty

Dear Parkway parents,

All school districts in St. Louis County are announcing today that our school buildings will remain closed through Wednesday, April 22. This decision is consistent with the St. Louis County stay at home order and guidance from local health and government officials. Therefore, all Parkway schools and district offices will be closed through April 22.

We will continue to evaluate a return date and let you know as soon as possible when school might resume. While no decision has been made, we should be prepared for a potential extension of the school closure. Additionally, all school and district activities and events are canceled through April 30.

While our buildings are closed, our commitment to our students and our plans to support you remain the same. The thought of not seeing our students and staff at school each day is heartbreaking. Yet, I remain hopeful. I am fortunate to have a front-row seat to see the wonderful things students and teachers can achieve together. I look forward to watching our community come together to support one another as we continue to learn and grow.

You will receive more information later today with details about eLearning and how we will continue to support you and your family.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Dr. Keith Marty
