Important information on outdoor facilities and technology updates

Dear Parkway community,
We have a few updates for you today including the use of our fields and property and ongoing technical support. Please continue to follow our closure website for more information.
We are aware that many parents, students and community members want to use Parkway’s outdoor spaces during this time to exercise and stay healthy. Over many years, our facilities have been built and maintained by your overwhelming community support. Typically, we welcome everyone to use and enjoy our facilities. However, at this time, the community is also under a stay at home order from local and state officials and health departments. Yet we continue to see groups of people gathering on the fields to play team sports and other organized activities that are in violation of health department requirements.
Therefore, we ask for your cooperation as we all follow these updated closures for Parkway outdoor facilities.
- Parkway fields are not available for use. There is no way to monitor and anticipate how many people will show up to use our fields at a given time. Therefore, in the interest of health and safety, our fields are closed and we will monitor and enforce field use.
- Parkway playgrounds and tennis courts are closed.
- Parkway high school tracks remain open to walk or run. Please maintain safe social distancing and avoid group activities. Food, drinks and pets are not permitted.
- Please remind your children of the St. Louis County stay at home order and guidance to limit gatherings to 10 or less with safe distancing.
Is Your Device Broken?
If your child’s Parkway device is broken you can swap it out at our Library Media Services office on the Central Campus between 10 am - 2 pm on Monday, Wednesday or Friday (map). Please bring the broken device with you to exchange it.
A large number of technology service providers are experiencing periodic outages due to the massive increase in the volume of users across the nation. In the past week, both Schoology and Google have had short outages that have impacted our students and teachers. Locally, there have also been reports of internet outages from providers like Charter Spectrum and AT&T. We have also heard that other school districts using other tools are having similar experiences.
As we continue to navigate this new online landscape, we will do our best to inform you of outages that may impact eLearning for extended periods of time.
