Congratulations to our 2021 award season recipients!

Pillars of Parkway
Six individuals have been selected as 2021 Pillars of Parkway. This prestigious award is presented to individuals who have provided extraordinary service to the Parkway community and go beyond what is expected. The Pillar honorees are:

Debbie Breen – Secretary, Central Middle
Wendy Freebersyser – Math teacher, North High
Sandy Guymon – English teacher, South High
Jason Rooks – Chief Technology Officer, Administration
Amanda Stanec – Parent volunteer, Mason Ridge Elementary
Jennifer Stanfill – Director of Choice Programs, Parkway

Congratulations again to all 45 nominees including parent volunteers, employees and community members.

Albert Award
Congratulations to the 2021 Albert Award winners! The Albert Award is named in honor of the late Al Burr, a teacher, coach and long-distinguished principal in Parkway. It recognizes teachers in the earliest stages of their careers who are making a difference in the lives of their students and colleagues.

The honorees are:

Elementary: Drew Meininger – Grade 3, McKelvey Elementary
Middle: Lexi Hummert – ELA Grade 7, Southwest Middle
High: Joe Milliano – AP Physics 1 & 2, West High

The Albert Award is sponsored by the Parkway Alumni Association. Winners receive $1,000. Congratulations to all of the 2021 Albert Award nominees!

Light of Parkway
Three special Parkway employees were surprised with the announcement that they are recipients of the Light of Parkway award!

Congratulations to:

Salko Omerovic (Carpenter, Facilities)
Bill Goodbread (Bus Driver, Transportation)
Julian Erber (DevOps Manager, Technology)

Winners receive $500 from the Parkway Alumni Association. Congratulations to all employees who were nominated for a prestigious 2021 Light of Parkway award.  

These employees, along with Teacher of the Year recipients, years of service and retirees, will be recognized during Parkway's virtual Appreciation Evening event, on Monday, April 26.
