Dr. Kevin M. Martin selected as Northeast Middle principal
3/16/2018 -- Dr. Kevin M. Martin has been selected as the principal of Northeast Middle School, effective July 1. The board of education voted unanimously in support of the recommendation.
We are so pleased to have found Kevin, with a reputation for excellence in leadership, to move into this leadership role. Kevin is currently the assistant principal at Hazelwood Northwest Middle School where he has served since 2015. Prior to that role, he served as an instructional and data coach at Hazelwood East High School. Early in his career, he was a classroom teacher in the content areas of math, special education and business education.
While serving as assistant principal, Kevin not only improved curriculum but also improved school culture which resulted in an increase in student achievement and a significant drop in behavior and discipline. Kevin has presented robust short- and long-term goals for Northeast Middle, focusing on each student’s unique learning needs, to continue the traditions of student excellence.
Kevin holds doctorate of education as well as an education specialist and master’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business teacher education from Illinois State University and is working to complete a graduate certificate in human resource management from Colorado State University.
