Three Parkway Teachers Earn Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award
11/11/2024 - Three Parkway teachers have been selected as winners of the 2024 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award – Tyra Hall, librarian at Ross Elementary; Morgan Schneider, band teacher at Parkway Central Middle, and Jennifer Bannecker, reading specialist at Parkway North High.
Hall, Schneider, and Bannecker are among more than 100 teachers from across the St. Louis metropolitan area who are being recognized as examples of truly outstanding educational excellence and dedication to students and the teaching profession. The annual program recognizes St. Louis area instructors, selected by their schools’ administrators, for their accomplishments and dedication to their students and the teaching profession.
“Dedicated and passionate teachers have a profound, long-lasting impact on their students,” said Akberet Boykin Farr, vice president of human resources for Emerson. “Their unwavering commitment to ignite students’ passion for learning and empower them to overcome challenges in and out of the classroom is commendable. For those reasons and many others, we are excited and privileged to recognize 99 teachers as this year’s Excellence in Teaching Awards honorees. Congratulations to all our honorees on this much-deserved recognition.”
The Excellence in Teaching Awards program began in St. Louis in 1989 and is sponsored annually by Emerson, the global technology and software company.
