We are excited to welcome volunteers and visitors to SVE! Please note the difference between a volunteer and a visitor, as a volunteer is required to have a full background check as outlined below. If you have already completed fingerprinting, it is good for 6 years. However, the volunteer application needs to be completed each year.

• A Parkway volunteer is an individual who has an opportunity to be alone with a student. Please see the Volunteer Information.
• A Parkway visitor is an individual in a school for a limited period of time who does not have the opportunity to be alone with a student. Parkway Visitors do not need to go through the background check process.

Please note the following specifics related to volunteer and visitor opportunities:

• Visitors may eat lunch with their child by scheduling ahead of time (Form coming soon).
• We will continue having students meet parents/guardians in the vestibule when picking up early.
• We will not be allowing parents/guardians inside the lobby/front hallway before dismissal.
• Per Missouri Statute 168.133, those who wish to volunteer must complete a fingerprint background check through the Missouri State Highway Patrol and FBI. The cost for the background check is $42.00 and is the responsibility of the volunteer. Please reach out if you need assistance.
• Volunteers may complete the App Garden (Parkway volunteer tracking software). Use this link to start App Garden Application
• It can take volunteers anywhere from 4-6 weeks to be approved so please do not delay if you plan to assist in the coming months. We suggest applying at the beginning of the year.
