A little about me...
One of my favorite quotes that is displayed in my office is, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all of the difference.” This quote is a reminder of the many learning opportunities I have had on my journey as a mother, teacher, friend and principal. I love being the principal at Ross Elementary School and cannot wait to get to school each day. Character Education has always been a strong part of my life from my own kindergarten experience through adulthood and it is an honor to be at a school that is a National School of Character!
I was born and raised in Union City, California and moved to St. Louis when I was 19 years old. As a Hispanic female, I have had many opportunities to cross the road less traveled and grew tremendously from all experiences. I graduated from the University of Missouri with both a Bachelor and two Masters Degrees. The first Masters was in reading and the second in school administration. I earned with my Doctorate in 2008 from Maryville University and remain on a learning journey. As a leader in the community, I an active member of the Saint Louis Principals Association and involved in my church. I am the mother of three amazing children. My oldest son Zachary is a St. Louis City Firefighter and my middle son Jacob is a commercial pilot. My daughter Morgan is the youngest of the three and is currently studying to be a nurse at Missouri State University.
I enjoy visiting my family in California, Zumba, reading a good book and traveling. Another favorite past time of mine is shopping and attending the theater. My favorite color is purple and I love French fries, sour dough bread and oatmeal raisin cookies.
