Mrs. Lara Boles, M.A.
Mrs. Boles has a Master of Arts degree in History from the University of Oregon. Her areas of specialization are U.S. History and the History of the American West. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon with a major in history and a minor in political science. She is also certified in Gifted Education. After graduating, Mrs. Boles wrote and directed two short historical documentaries with the Oregon Documentary Project, “The Heppner Flood” and “Journey Into Spring.” “The Heppner Flood” won a regional Emmy Award for Best Student Documentary in 1997. She also has experience in public history, working at the Lane County historical museum with artifacts and exhibits. Mrs. Boles and her husband and son love to travel in the U.S. and abroad. She has been at West High since 2003.
