• ABOUT Parkway South Middle School PTO

    Membership to the Parkway South Middle School PTO (PSM PTO) is free and available to all parents and legal guardians of South Middle students, the administrative staff, and the teachers.

    PSM PTO’s mission is to provide South Middle with support and assistance in achieving the total educational goals established by the school and Parkway School District. We accomplish our mission by:

    • Hosting Community Events such as our Kindness Expo, Fall Dunk or Treat, BINGO Night, and Multicultural Night
    • Supporting Book Fairs to promote literacy and a love of learning
    • Fundraising for Capital Projects
      • School Projector and Screen
      • Outdoor Classroom Space
      • Our Teacher Grant Program (called Patriot Grants)
    • Organizing Teacher and Staff Appreciation events
      • Conference Meals
      • Stock the Lounge, Soup Day, Sweet Treat Day
      • Teacher Appreciation Week
    • Celebrating our 8th Graders as they transition to high school

    We want to continue to make our school a better place by providing helpful and enriching benefits to our students, families, and staff but that takes money! We accomplish all of the above through monetary donations and SignUpGenius requests.

    This year we chose Raise Craze to help with these needs because this new fundraiser keeps kindness and inclusivity at the center. Raise Craze is an online platform enabling students to set up secure, custom websites where they request donations via email, text, or social. During the fundraiser, students pay it forward by completing Acts of Kindness (AOK) for others. Spend time serving, not selling!

    Students will participate in a Kindness Expo September 22-23. Station supplies are made possible by SignUpGenius donations. Students will rotate through various stations, paying it forward by:

    • Painting Kindness Rocks and leaving them for others to find
    • Chalking the walk with kindness messages and drawings
    • Decorating pillowcases for a local shelter
    • Assembling Blessings Bags filled with self-care necessities
    • Writing thank you notes to community service members, friends, family
    • Donating blankets, towels, pet cleaning products, food to animal shelters
    • Making Tie Blankets for Project Linus
