    Welcome to Kindergarten! I am Mary Jehling. This is my fifth year overall and third year teaching Kindergarten at McKelvey. I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the University of Dayton and a master's degree in reading from Webster University.  

    In Kindergarten we have so much fun! We learn to read, write, study number concepts, various topics in science, social studies, and most importantly becoming life long learners. Students have many opportunities to create, problem, solve, and use their imaginations. 

    This year Parkway has changed the policy in regards to classroom snacks. Classrooms must remain food free whenever possible. This means we are no longer to serve party or birthday treats. 

    In the event of an emergency or change in your child's dismissal plans, please email me or call me before 2:30. If you have not received a reply from me by 2:30, please follow up with a phone call to the office to ensure your child gets home safely. We ask that changes to transportation after 2:30 are not made unless it is an absolute emergency. If you are calling to report a student absence, Please call the main office. The main office number is 314-415-6500.
