11/3/2021 -- Parkway School Resource Officers Terry Cordia, Chesterfield Police Department (Central Middle SRO) and Matt Ahal, Manchester Police Department (Southwest Middle SRO) along with Parkway’s Supervisor of Security, Robbie Winckel participated in the recent School Safety Academy sponsored by the Missouri School Boards’ Association’s Center for Education Safety. 

Topics at the School Safety Academy included trauma-informed and mental health resources, intervention and de-escalation, support systems for behaviors, legal aspects of school safety, emergency preparedness and plan building, behavioral risk and threat assessments and cyber security fundamentals.

The event was held September 18-20 in Branson and was designed to train and certify school safety coordinators. School safety personnel from 65 school districts throughout the state attended the academy at no cost to the school districts.
