  • What's our WHY?

Parkway North High School values acceptance, connection, empowerment and service.  Students and staff strive to embody these core values.  Unfortunately, at times, children and adults with disabilities are denied the opportunity because they encounter barriers which make it impossible for them to play or interact with siblings, loved ones and peers.

The Parkway North Day of Service and Special Olympics Track and Field event helps alleviate these challenges while empowering our students and staff with the time and opportunity to service the community, bridge the gap between those with disabilities or underserved populations and grow into the core values.  We need your support to continue our decades-long tradition of hosting Special Olympics and our new addition of our all-school Day of Service on April 11, 2024.

    Why Run?

PNH supports physical and mental health by hosting and encouraging staff, students and community members to participate in healthy outdoor activities.  Running together promotes health and community.

    Why fundraise?

Part of the PNH mission is to cultivate a community of connection, care and service, all of which come to life during our Day of Service and Special Olympic Track Event.

Scheduled this year for April 11, 2024. North high hopes to create a school culture that embodies belonging, inclusiveness and service to the community. As students engage in their service project, they’re discovering what gives them joy, what sparks their interest, and what their talents are.

Join Parkway North High School to achieve our wellness and service campaign.  Your generous donation will cultivate real life learning and growth experiences for our staff and student body through service projects that benefit the community.  The cost of running the events, supplies, transportation, food and t-shirts for over 900 students, and 100 staff.  On April 11th, North High will host a Special Olympics track meet with over 200 Special Needs athletes competing.  The North high students and staff will serve as buddies to the athletes, host and run the track and field games and set up and run a carnival area.  In total, approximately 450 North high students and staff will participate in the event.  In addition, another 450-500 students and staff members will spend the day completing over 30 volunteer projects in the community.  Some of the projects include:  recording children's books for young readers, creating STEM kits for families, working in St. Louis County parks like; Creve Coeur park, Faust park, Queeny park, volunteering in local food pantries, creating a community garden and campus beautification.
