About Miss McCarty

It is an honor to be one of McKelvey's 5th grade teachers, and I am excited about the amazing year ahead of us!  I truly love what I do, and I believe I have the best job in the world.

I spent my first 5 years teaching in Kentucky, where I taught first and third grade.  This is my sixth year teaching at McKelvey and in 5th grade.  I have had numerous roles, including Academic Team Coach, Girls Basketball Coach, and Thinking Strategies Institute Lab Host Classroom for PEBC in Denver, Colorado.  

When I am not teaching, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, playing sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  Family is very important to me as I moved to St. Louis to be closer to my sister.  I have two adorable nieces and I absolutely adore being an aunt.  I am incredibly glad I made the move as I have truly grown to love St. Louis and my McKelvey family. 

I am looking forward to an incredible year with my kiddos.  We are going to have an awesome journey together.
