Spark! Pitch Contests
The Parkway Alumni Association provides support for Parkway's Spark! program for high-school students. The association has helped students connect with Parkway alumni who act as judges, mentors and guest speakers for the program. In addition, the association sponsors an annual student pitch competition (a total of $1,000 is awarded to the top three winners) and provides occasional supplemental funding for the program from donations to the association.
The most recent pitch contest was held on February 23. Sixteen student-owned businesses presented their pitches to the judges in hopes of being selected to receive prize money that could be used to advance their business to the next level. The competition was intense! The judges had their work cut out for them as they heard the three-minute pitches from the students. At the end of the event, three businesses were selected to receive funding.
The recipients were first place - Unknown, second place - Kelah, and third place - Relaxem.
