Emergency Closure - PNH Counseling FAQs
Q: How long is Parkway North closed?
A: Right now, we are not able to return to school until after April 22nd, 2020. The district will continue to assess the situation in our country and make decisions accordingly.
Q: Am I able to meet with my counselor during the closure?
A: Counselors have been instructed to not schedule in-person meetings during the closure. Your counselors ARE available to respond to any questions you have during the closure using email and/or Google Meet. Please reach out to your counselor via email and they will work to answer your questions and/or find a mutually convenient time to connect via Google Meet.
Q: What should I do if there is an emergency?
A: Anytime there is a medical emergency, please call 911. For a mental health crisis, please reach out to one of these resources:
St. Louis Youth Connection Helpline: The Youth Connection Helpline is a dedicated 24/7 hotline for youth, parents, guardians, or other concerned individuals to access crisis intervention, behavioral health and substance use assessment, and service linkage. Services are provided by master’s level professionals and are readily available by phone, SMS text, web chat, and in person through mobile outreach.

Q: What can I do to navigate the college admission process during this stressful and confusing time?
A: The National Association for College Admission Counseling is providing a free online tool to serve as a central resource for information about changes in college admission events, deposit dates, and more as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
Q: What have been the changes with college admission testing?
A: College Board and ACT continue making adjustments to testing opportunities. Please continue checking their websites for the latest information. Here is where things stand now:
National ACT - ACT has rescheduled its April 4 national test date to June 13 across the US. All students registered for the April 4 test date will receive an email from ACT informing them of the postponement and instructions for free rescheduling to June 13 or a future national test date. Please check the ACT website for updates. See ACT FAQs for additional details.
District ACT - The April 7th district ACT and practice ACT tests have been cancelled. The district is currently exploring alternative options.
SAT and AP Tests
SAT — The SAT for May 2 has been canceled. Makeup exams for the March SAT are also canceled. Registered students will receive refunds. Click here for the latest updates.
AP — There will be no paper administration of the AP exam this year. AP exams will only cover content that most students and teachers covered in class by early March. For each subject, two different testing administrations will be made available online to students. The full exam schedule will be made available by April 3rd. Updates regarding AP exams may be found here.
Q: I am a senior working towards the A+ Scholarship. How will this closure impact my eligibility?
A: The Missouri Department of Higher Education has made temporary changes for 2020 graduates only. Please see the new A+ eligibility guidelines which were posted on March 19, 2020. If you have any questions regarding your status, reach out to Ms. Bluestein.Thank You
