This monthly alternative comedy show at Blueberry Hill will have you rolling. A three-act comedy sketch, stand-up comics, improv, music and short films are all blended together to create an indie mashup of laughter. The touring indie comedians who’ve appeared on the Bare Knuckle stage are professionals who’ve appeared on Comedy Central, Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show and Second City. Since it only happens once a month, this show has attracted a strong following of regulars.

KTG is a community theater group that regularly performs plays at the Kirkwood Community Center theater. On the third Friday of every month, the group puts on Twisted Improv at the Steamboat Room. Reserved seats for the show are $15, or you can buy a general ticket at the door for $10. Food, wine, beer and other beverages are available from The Kirkwood Station Brewery. Bring some crazy ideas to the show, since the audience will be asked for suggestions and input during the show.
The Improv Shop
510 N. Euclid Ave.
St. Louis, MO 63108
The Improv Shop offers something completely different in the Central West End. The Shop offers five levels of improv classes, plus special classes for high school and college students. The public can come watch long-form improv sketches, performed by instructors and advanced students. The quality of these shows is top-notch, but the ticket price is just $5. The most unique offering is probably Friday night’s Cagematch improv team competition. Come out and support this unique STL venue, or sign up for a class. You can also arrange an improv class as a unique group activity for parties or team building activities.

The Pageant is one of St. Louis’s best-loved alternative venues for music, but did you know that national comedians often schedule a tour stop here, too? The tradition is for hardcore fans to arrive early, hang out at the Halo Bar and order food from up and down the Loop, because whoever is in the Halo gets first dibs on seating. The Pageant is wild, fun, bold and gritty, everything you love about St. Louis, and especially about Delmar. You can find a list of upcoming Pageant comics, along with other STL comedy events, at Comedy in the Lou‘s website.
