The National Honor Society is the nation’s premiere organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. The national organization serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Members of the Parkway Central chapter of the National Honor Society have met the following criteria and have been evaluated by the faculty in the following areas: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. All applications are screened by a panel of PCH faculty and administrators.
Criteria for NHS membership:

You are in your sophomore, junior, or senior year

Cumulative GPA is at least 3.500
-
You did not receive any Improvement Needed (I) or Unacceptable (U) grades in citizenship on the last 2 semester report cards.

You must be involved in at least 2 clubs or activities, one of which must be school-sponsored. A job can count as the second activity.

You must have participated in some community service over the past two years. No extensive service is necessary. You must show that you are willing to give your time to your community, as you will be asked to complete community service as a member of NHS.
The group performs various forms of service, including raising money for charity, helping at local elementary schools, and tutoring.

Sophomores and Juniors - February
