Spark!
The Parkway Spark! program provides high school students immersive learning experiences outside the high school classroom made possible by collaborations with local businesses and community leaders. Whether it’s exploring a potential college major or career path, Spark! illuminates the wide world of possibilities for high school students through eight learning strand choices: BioScience, Digital Media, Sports Medicine, Business Incubator, Engineering, Pre-Professional Health Sciences, Technology Solutions, and Teaching and Learning.
School-Based Business Partnerships
The business, marketing and information technology internship opportunity is a collaborative learning experience between Parkway students, a company or organization, that is offered in all Parkway high schools. In this program, students will work for the company and spend time researching and analyzing an industry. The internship program can offer valuable insight into a particular field and is a proven way to gain relevant knowledge, skills, and experience while establishing important connections in the field. This program can lead to increased levels of clarity when declaring a college major or pursuing work after high school.
Real World Learning Partnerships
Our local and regional business partnerships provide real-world experiences through projects, workshops, job shadowing, career days, and events like Trades Day and Construct Reach Events. Collaborations with industry leaders such as Boeing for STEMfest and EdRising Cadet Teaching enrich these activities.
Career and Technical Education Advisory Board
Our Advisory Board connects Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers and students with partners throughout the school year and summer. We continually expand our network, recently adding TransferVR, Shake Shack, and Redwood Nursing Home, ensuring diverse opportunities.
