Summer School

  •

    Greetings Parkway Families!

During summer school, we recognize our responsibility to focus on both student academic needs and student enrichment opportunities during the summer months.  For Summer 2023, in-person summer course offerings will continue to focus on academics and remediation, providing reading and math support to children in grades 1-8 and offering credit recovery courses at the high school level.  Parkway-Rockwood Community Education will continue to provide high-quality, tuition-based programming for children in grades K-8 that allow students to engage in fun learning activities that encourage creativity, enrichment, and academic growth.

Here are some key changes for 2023:

    • Elementary partner schools have shifted:
      • Bellerive Elementary (for those living in Bellerive, Green Trails and River Bend Elementary attendance areas)
      • McKelvey Elementary (for those living in McKelvey, Craig and Ross attendance areas)
      • Highcroft Ridge Elementary (for those living in Highcroft Ridge, Claymont, and Shenandoah Valley attendance areas)
      • Henry Elementary (for those living in Henry, Mason Ridge and Pierremont attendance areas)
      • Carman Trails Elementary (for those living in Carman Trails, Barretts, and Hanna Woods attendance areas)
      • Oak Brook Elementary (for those living in Oak Brook, Sorrento Springs, and Wren Hollow attendance areas)
    • High School Registration processes will vary based on whether the course is credit recovery (student has taken the course previously and failed) or credit advancement (student is taking the course for first-time credit)
      • High School Credit Advancement virtual course requests will be submitted in Infinite Campus during the high school registration window.  Students will be able to request Summer School Credit Advancement courses beyond the registration window.
      • High School Credit Recovery courses will be differentiated by semester and based on the student's prior grade and content mastery in the course.  Students will receive invitations to Credit Recovery courses.
      • There will be 3 sessions for in-person Credit Recovery courses.  Students will enroll in one course per session and can take up to three sessions.  Each course will be worth 0.5 credits.  Session dates and times are as follows:
