We have more than 50 classes at 25 sites located within the school districts of Parkway, Rockwood, Pattonville, Hazelwood, Clayton, Maplewood-Richmond Heights, Brentwood, and Ladue. The program specializes in the areas of English as a Second Language and Adult Basic Education and Literacy.

Prospective teachers must have a four-year college degree with original transcripts supplied in a timely manner. They must also pass a thorough fingerprint and background check process as mandated by Parkway School District and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  All positions are part-time.

Once hired, teachers must obtain state certification in adult education. In order to accomplish this, all new hires will need to:

    • Successfully complete an eight (8) hour pre-certification workshop. Currently, this workshop is held virtually over two days. This is required under state guidelines.  Teachers are paid to attend this training.
    • Complete state certified professional development yearly.  Missouri requires adult education teachers to obtain 20 hours of professional development per year.  Teachers are paid to attend professional development.
