    Each EarthDance Field Trip includes a walking & tasting tour of our historic farm, including education in our pollinator front yard, Seven Generation garden, greenhouse & hoop houses, 1.2-acre vegetable production fields, and our permaculture orchard.     Classroom presentations are available on a wide variety of topics and cater to many different age groups. Topics covered in the past include permaculture, soil health, water management, organic farming practices, and how what we do on the farm contributes to environmental and human health.     St. Louis Composting 

    Learn about commercial composting and what happens to your compost after it leaves the school with a field trip, suited for 2nd-12th grade, to a commercial composting facility in Belleville, IL. K-12 classroom presentations are also available to learn more about composting and how to best use your yellow bins.     EarthWays Center of Missouri Botanical Garden

    These programs are standards-based and easily extendable to fit seamlessly with K-12 classroom curriculum. Programs are available on a variety of sustainability topics including recycling, energy, air quality and more. Outreach programs that focus on waste/recycling and stormwater topics are free; otherwise, fees are $100 per class of up to 30 students, $50 for additional classes conducted on the same date in the same location.     Green is Here for Good Field Trip

    How “green” are you? Sustainability-themed visits to the Garden integrate an interpretive tour of the site that illustrates the importance of waste minimization, energy, energy efficiency and conservation, and resource conservation. Students grades 3-12 will discover simple things they can do to use resources more efficiently and live more sustainably. Tours can be customized to focus on the specific topics that would be relevant to the teachers and students that will be in attendance.     National Great Rivers Research and Education Center

    There are a variety of activities to choose from for grades K-12 that can be presented either in the classroom or as a field trip to the field station. The topics covered include watersheds, pollution, the water cycle, water run-off, and aquatic ecosystems. The first Thursday of the month will officially be Field Trip day at NGRREC.     Urban Harvest STL

    During your visit, we will share a brief overview of Urban Harvest STL and the history of the FOOD ROOF Farm, followed by a farm walk with in-depth explanations of each component of the farm, from hydroponic towers to the agricultural green roof system to chickens to an edible wall. We offer field trips of the farm for K-12 school groups on Tuesday through Friday mornings from April - October. Fees are $50 for groups up to 15 students or $100 for groups of 16-30 students.     Missouri Department of Conservation

    The Missouri Department of Conservation Educational Consultant for Parkway School District, David Bruns, can visit your classroom and present on a wide variety of topics including ecosystems, natural resources, and conservation. These lessons are part of the Discover Nature Schools curriculum and these teacher and student guides can be provided.
