Parkway Sustainability Department
Parkway School District recognizes the importance of environmental sustainability and is committed to ensuring ongoing programs conserve energy and other resources. The Office of Sustainability is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive district-wide energy conservation program, waste management program, recycling program, and environmental sustainability program.
Sustainability Goals
Energy Efficiency
Reduce energy usage by 35% by 2025 and increase on-site renewable energy production.
Water Conservation
Reduce water usage by 20% by 2025 and decrease stormwater runoff.
Waste Reduction
Divert 70% of waste from the landfill by 2025 while reducing total waste production.
Sustainable Outdoor Environments
Ensure that all students engage in meaningful outdoor learning experiences.

Increase opportunities for students to engage in learning experiences about sustainability topics.
