Water Conservation
At Parkway, we recognize the need to address water use holistically, looking at indoor use, outdoor use, specialized uses, and metering. The use of water within the district represents significant energy use not directly captured by a building's energy meter. Implementing best practices for water efficiency and conservation including fixtures, equipment, irrigation, and behavior will allow us to meet our goal of reducing our water use 20% by the year 2025.

What we do
-
Water Fixtures: Low flow aerators have been installed throughout the district and high flow toilets and urinals are being converted to efficient dual-flush fixtures.
-
Landscaping: The District emphasizes the use of drought-tolerant Missouri native species in landscaping and limited irrigation at all District sites.
-
Stormwater Management: Throughout the district, pervious pavement, bioretention basins, and other stormwater capture systems reduce and filter stormwater run-off that can carry pollutants into local water bodies.
