Google Chrome Error Messages

  • ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

    1. Check Status of the Website
      • Try navigating to a different website to see if the error occurs again. If you receive the error again, the problem most likely is with your connection. If you are able to navigate to a different site successfully, the problem is most likely with the site that you received the error.
    2. Clear the Browsing History in Your Chrome Web Browser
      • Go to the menu in Chrome (3 vertical dots)
      • Go to More Tools
      • Select Clear Browsing Data
      • Change the Time Range to "All Time"
      • Click Clear Data
      • This may take several minutes
    3. Disable or Remove Chrome Extensions
      • Extensions can cause issues in Chrome. Try to disable them to see if it clears up the problem
      • Go the menu in Chrome (3 vertical dots)
      • Go to More Tools
      • Select Extensions
      • Disable extensions to see if it clears up the problem


    ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

    1. Press the  CTRL, ALT, and DEL buttons at the same time
    2. Click Task Manager
    3. Find all the Chrome processes and end them


    ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

    1. This error displays when the website address does not exist. Check for typos and try again


    ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

    1. This error displays when the internet connection was interrupted. Please refresh or reload the page


    ERROR CONNECTION REFUSED

    1. This error displays when the website does not allow your browser to connect. This can happen more often when on a VPN connection


    Aw, Snap!

    1. This error is displayed when the web page has caused Chrome to crash
    2. The most common cause is an Extension that is in your browser
    3. Disable your extensions and try to reload the page
