AP Credit Policy
AP Credit Policy is a resource by the College Board to help students and families research the transferability of an AP exam score. AP exams have the potential of college credit or placement.
It is best to search by college or university, to see which exams the college accepts at what score, and how the credit will be used, and if there is any limit to the amount of credit that will be used. Some colleges give placement for the AP exam score, allowing a student to "skip" the class and move to a higher level, other colleges may give credit for the class which goes towards graduation requirements, and still others will give a mix of placement and credit. AP Exam scores do not have a grade equivalent, so they do not impact the student's college cumulative grade point average.
