• PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying) TEST

All college bound juniors are encouraged to complete this optional assessment and some space is available for sophomores who would like additional practice taking the SAT test.  The PSAT test measures critical reading, mathematical problem-solving, and writing skills and is considered a practice test for the SAT which is a college entrance exam required by many colleges.  The PSAT score is also used by the College Board to qualify juniors to become National Merit Semi-Finalists and Finalists.  To learn more about the National Merit Scholarship program click HERE

The PSAT will be given at South High on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 during blocks 2 and 8.  Registration for the test will be done at the bookstore and the payment of $20 must be made at the time of registration, deadline September 12, 2018. Students who register to take a PSAT exam are also REQUIRED to attend a pre-test administration session prior to taking the exam.
