Innovation: Creating results by doing new things
Innovation Architect: A person that makes other people innovate by changing the environment they work inAs we move further into the digital age, the Parkway School District recognizes that we will need to continue to expand our practice and remain flexible in our approach to educating students. In response to this, the Innovation Team was created to stay on the cutting edge and research new practices and technologies as they come about. By partnering with technology and curriculum coordinators, we can bring a variety of experiences and viewpoints to our district.

Access Learning for Today (ALT)
In the summer of 2017, rollout of the ALT project will include more than 150 hours of professional development focusing on technology integration. In the fall, every middle school student will receive a chromebook for use in the classroom and at home. We will also expand our elementary classroom chromebook implementation to include a device for every student in 2nd grade. The rollout of chromebooks will continue to high schools in 2018 with the goal of all students in grades 2-12 having individual access by 2021.
The ALT project is a springboard to transforming teaching and learning in the digital age. ALT will provide the tools and content that give students the ability to create, access, and experience all the world has to offer. This project will include all initiatives meant to provide digital content, devices and systems for the purpose of educating Parkway students. We will also develop a digital content strategy to insure that all students have access to high quality digital content.
